Abstract This paper focuses on the thermal characteristic of torrefied pinecone pellets. The resistivity heating system was used for torrefaction purposes. conducted at 523 K different holding times 5, 10 and 15 minutes. behaviour pellet numerically predicted using pdepe algorithm. A parabolic 2-D heat transfer equation to estimate profile across pinecone. effect interactive atmosphere numerical solution also examined. pelletisation performed a ring-die temperature 70 °C.
